SHRILL

Shrill is about women's voices - how they have been heard historically, the platforms they are given and the modern day criticism they receive. Made and performed by Amy Conway and Claire Willoughby, this show is a contemporary exploration of the inherent societal inequality seen by female and feminine voices.
This show is currently in development. Click here for more info.
Produced by Scissorkick.

IRONS

A physical theatre film by Lotus Stone Productions.
A sumptuous visual and physical production, inspired by Grimm’s Snow White and Anne Sexton’s poem of the same name.

The work explores the themes from the point of view of Snow White’s stepmother, the queen - the transient power of youth, beauty and sex and it’s impact on women. Irons examines how women are perceived as they age and why powerful, beautiful women are still frequently portrayed as evil in our culture.

Performance and Design by Sarah Cosgrove. Lighting Design by Laura Hawkins. Sound Design by Dr Linda O’Keeffe. Film made by Lucas Chih-Peng Kao. Film Assistant and Images by Gabriela Pieniążek.

SURGE Community Street Theatre Tour

An opportunity for people to try street theatre and perform in a local festival or event, Surge's Community Street Theatre Tour has travelled across Scotland and internationally.

“Street theatre is beautifully democratic in terms of getting theatre to audiences. It’s free most of the time, the audience can just come across it, and if they don’t like it, they can just leave. It really breaks down those barriers in terms of social and economic deprivation which I think is very important at the moment.” - Melanie Jordan
Interview with Creative Scotland about Community Street Theatre in Chonqing, China.

Clown Cabaret

Co-created with Saras Feijoo and Tim Licata.
Regular cabaret scratch nights and yearly 'Best of' evenings to develop and support clown artists across Scotland. A platform where artists can try out new material or refine their technique in the space where a clown is happiest - in front of an audience!

Bodlovic and Rich Dyson.
"It’s the interactions with the audience that make this evening so successful; people seem to laugh just as much at the laughter of others as they do at the clowns."
★★★★ Wee Review
"From the familiar, vulnerable comic through grotesque routines influenced by commedia dell’arte to the aggressive bouffon, their scratch cabaret nights showcase technical brilliance and imagination."
"inspired, hilarious and utterly unique"
